You walk out to your vehicle to find it has been broken into and your power tools have been stolen.
What happens Next?
1. You ring the police and report the break in and the theft of your equipment.
2. You ring your insurance company (if you have tool insurance), only to be told that to facilitate a quick settlement of your claim you will need to supply a list of tools that were stolen. That's easy you think! Three circular saws, three cordless drills, 2 Planers, 1 Jigsaw. Large Router etc etc.
What make are they ? That's easy. Makita, Bosch, Hitachi etc
What are the model and serial numbers ? I don't know !
You would then be asked to supply copies of receipts for your power tool purchases. These you will probably have, but only for tools that are five (5) years old or less (You are only required to keep tax invoice/receipts for tax purposes for 5 years). Any claim for power tools older than 5 years that you can't show proof of ownership for, would probably be rejected.
FACT!! MOST TRADESMAN DON'T KEEP RECORDS OF THEIR EQUIPMENT.
We provide a full registration service for your tools. Additionally, Pawn Brokers, Insurance Companies and Police departments are given limited access to key details in our register allowing them to identify stolen equipment.
PS: Dont forget to also register your other valuable tools. Your Laptop, Mobile Phone, PDA, PC, Printer/Fax/Copier etc.
